Celebrities are part of the fun in the Ford pavilion at the World's Fair

The visitors to the World's Fair arc themselves part of the show. From Maine and California they come, from all the states in between, and -from Alaska and Hawaii as well. And they also arrive from far-off lands. Most are tourists like everyone else. Others are Very Important Persons acting like tourists. King Hussein of Jordan, Lord Louis Mountbatten of Britain, and Willy Brandt, Mayor of West Berlin, represent just a sampling of foreign personages who have doffed protocol for the fun created by Walt Disney at the Ford pavilion. Home-grown celebrities come in droves, too. Arthur Godfrey "ooohed" all the way through the Magic Skyway ride; Garry Moore's eyes popped; Donna Reed smiled her prettiest; and Lawrence Welk couldn't tear himself away from the auto parts harmonic orchestra. Bubbly actress Goldie Hawn first won national attention as a line-flubbing, body-painted go-go dancer on the 1960’s television hit, "Rowan and Martin’s Laugh-In." But her career as a performer began earlier–and included a stint at the 1964-65 New York World’s Fair in Flushing Meadow Park, where she danced as a can-can dancer in the chorus at the Texas Pavilion. Hawn went on to a successful film career that has included starring roles in films like "Private Benjamin" and "The First Wives Club."
What does all this prove? Nothing important, really - unless great entertainment and solid fun is important.
