In 2009 gentleman back east registrate a 1964½ Ford Mustang convertible with the VIN of 5F08F100004. This Mustang #4 was another Raven Black/Red Magic Skyway convertible - the whereabouts from the other two are currently unknown... These early Mustangs (about the first 180 to 200 VINs) are of particular interest to Mustang enthusiasts because they were built prior to the "official first day of production" of the Mustang on March 9, 1964 - and often utilized slightly different parts and assembly methods as the engineers figured out the best way to build the cars.

Al and Gary Schweitzer are currently in the process of a complete restoration of this Worlds Fair Mustang, which was on the conveyor ride through the "Magic Skyway" at the Mustang's introduction in 1964. They promised to keep me in touch about the progress.

Some of the most famous Mustangs are the 1964-1965 New York Worlds Fair Mustangs. The first batch (only two batches were sent) of Mustangs all were Wimbledon White with red vinyl interiors, 260 2V V8's, C-4 automatic transmissions, and were made in March of 1964. These cars were going to be used in Walt Disney's Magic Skyway exhibit which was supposed to be a futuristic Disney theme. They would be installed on the Magic Skyway Conveyor as they were tracked around the Skyway.
