65 Consecutive Number

The consecutive number is the six digit number which you found on you data plate and/or at your lh inner fender. Because this was a continuation of the 64 the numbering began with 250001 at dearborn on the 1st of August, 1964. The San Jose units began at 125001 at the same date. New in producing mustang was the factory in Metuchem, which started a bit later at the 1st of february 1965 with the consecutive number 140001. Don't wonder that you don't find 65 cars starting with a 5 or 6 on their consecutive number, because this area was blocked by another FoMoCo division.
