Welcome to Klaus' 64½ to 66 early mustangs webpage!

This site is dedicated to all early-mustangs, but specially to the 64½...

Since I drove my first car (Ford Capri) I had a dream to get my own garage with all of the tools necessary to do a complete restoration on a classic car. At that time the car of my dreams was a Jaguar E-Type, which was thankfully out of my price range. Then, fate intervened; a friend asked me asked if he could use half of my garage to do a restoration on his 66 Mustang coupe. While helping him, I became more and more infected by the "early pony car virus". A year later I learned there was an early Mustang convertible for sale that had been sitting in the same spot for several years. I bought it, not realizing it would consume much more work than I expected. I thought it was a '65, but soon learned it was a much rarer '64 1/2 model. I began to learn as much information as I could about the '64 1/2s, especially from Charles Turner (thanks!).

Don't miss the story of the '65 Fastback called " "Rambo"", which nearly died after a bad crash with a VW. I have placed some high resolution photos of "Rambo on Tour" in the gallery that you can download if you'd like. Also, check out the pictures from the 40th Anniversary Mustang Celebration in Nashville!
Thanks to all of you who have helped make this webpage a success! As you can see, the hit rate is still climbing. This is one of the most visited Mustang websites outside the US, with nearly 1,000 visitors per day! I promise to carry on the site and add more interesting articles concerning early Mustangs when I find them. If you have any questions or comments concerning the website or Early Mustangs, please feel free to email me. Again, Thank You!!!

Towed Mustang
Published by MemberED writes "
I purchased a disabled, unseen 1966 candyapple red Mustang convertible with pony interior. The car was located in a large city 150 miles away. A couple of weeks after I purchased the car I took a trailer to the city to pick up the car. When I arried at the address, the car was not there. The house was a rent house but I was was able to locate the landlord. The landlord said she called a wrecking yard and had the car towed. She did not remeber who she called, but there were several yards in the area. I went to each yard and asked if they had towed a red '66Mustang convertible the last few weeks. Each yard said they had not. Determined to find the car, I started back at the first yard and asked if I could look in the yard and was told O.K. When I opened the back door at the first office, there sat the convertible. I told the people that was my car they would not let me have it. I went to the sheriff and showed him my bill of sale. The sheriff looked at the bill of sale and at the car and told me to load it up and that he would take care of the wrecking yard people people. I started getting offers for the car from people that pulled along side me as I left town. I sold the car to a friend of mine and it has been the top car at every show it has been entered."
